Let's see. I'm happy that Aperture is now working on my new MacBook Pro again. I'm not happy that I had to drive all the way out to the nearest Apple Store (40 minutes), spend another 15 minutes looking for a parking space, get told that they can't do much for me because Aperture is a pro application, then drive home. But it's working.

I'm happy my dinner experiment worked out not too badly.

I'm happy KO isn't sick and is on F'nIA tonight!

I'm happy I did this meme. I should try to think of something happy-making every day. It's good for me!

Hubby's fancy office Christmas party was actually not as fun as our little pre-party get-together at the new swankified Chateau Froggenhall! We worked like mad cleaning, tree trimming and getting organized all afternoon, and the house looked WONDERFUL. That made me happy!

Well, between my birthday and the new Mac, it's been a cinch to come up with stuff to be happy about. So today I needed a little more thought. And actually there are a few things:

• I found an article relevant to my job & forwarded it to my managers, and they appreciated the catch.


• Made my boss happy by filling in on customer service for a sick teammate. Which was only fair, seeing as it was the same guy who filled in for ME last Friday!


• My nice Hubby is helping me set up my new MacBook Pro. The screen is AMAZING. So bright and clear! We're trying to migrate all my old stuff over to the new laptop. I thought I achieved that last night, but I just got all the applications. No docs or iTunes library or anything. We're trying to fix that now.


• I found a dress for Hubby's Christmas party on Saturday! OK, I'm not happy that I had to buy it at Lane Bryant, but at some point I'll get serious about eating right and exercising again. But I found a simple cute Little Black Dress that didn't cost the earth. I got some sparkly jewelry to go with. I think I have black shoes, so I should be good to go! SUCH a relief. I was going to go shopping last weekend, but of course I got sick on Friday. I went out Monday but didn't find anything. So now all I have to worry about is our party for 20 people on Saturday evening before the company party. Hoo-ray!

I know what my happy thing for today is!

Yesterday I started the 8 Days theme, as tagged to me by sarken . The rules are that for eight days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag eight people to do the same. My eight were: capnredbeard , chicating , redstapler , lagizma , lucia_tanaka , zoethe , peacockharpy , and helpimarock if they are so inclined and have the time to play.

Well, my happy thing for today were the awesome pork chops I made for dinner! Which is ironic really, considering the inspiration for the eight days thing. But WOW, they were fantastic! I just browned them in a skillet like Cook's Illustrated told me to do. I also threw some minced rosemary and garlic in the pan and let them infuse the pan juices. I splashed a little wine in the pan and reduced the juices down to a wonderful rich brown thick YUMMINESS! If the skillet hadn't been hot, I would have licked it clean!

I still have rosemary all over my fingers. SNIFF!
